where the wild things came from - polka dot dress
there is so much significance to this little dress of mine. It started not so long ago, back in the (seriously hot for london) summer of two thousand nine. It was my first day back in london for a while now, but this time, i was back for more specific reasons than others. So after finishing a white mocha on the euro tunnel, i skipped off the train to greet my smiley dad and walk him to work at eight in the lovely brisk morning.
It is always so nice to catch up with those who have taken a vacation from your everyday life, especially when those people are as cool as my poppy. He took my empty (yes empty) suitcase up to the office on oxford street (yes oxford) and left an extra oyster card in my hand to make sure i had means of double decker bus transportation and the underground. And with that I began to walk down one of the most beautiful and awe worthy fashion forward streets in the world!
Point being, there was only one thing that my american bank account had been waiting to explode on the entire year, and on the big corner past the Nike International headquarters was my TOPSHOP haven.
Seven stories of bliss, mens, vintage, a nail and hair bar, SHOES, and my entire future closet.
How do you explain walking into somewhere where everything is so god damn perfectly pretty you dont know what to touch first. Luckily for me TopShop fitting rooms hold ten items and I was on round eleven at the point forgetting that pounds converted double up to dollars.
Lucky for me round one i walked out with a good six things, spending as little as I could without, well, crying.
